HEJ Football club was formed in June 2018 at a recreational field in Bletchley next to Barley Hurst school the training sessions took place in all weather conditions on hot, cold, wet, icy, and snowy Saturday mornings.
Our aim has always been to provide fun, low-cost and inclusive football training sessions for children under the age of 10 throughout the whole year. Many of the original players who joined the football club in 2018 still attend the weekly training sessions on Monday and Fridays and it has been fantastic to see them still having fun and developing their football skills.
Having fun and enjoyment and learning to play football in a safe environment is the philosophy of the HEJ football club with clear coaching pathways for children of all abilities and this will continue to be so.
In 2019 we moved our training sessions to Bletchley leisure centre and played indoors over the winter months which everyone really enjoyed especially the parents. We returned to the original Bletchley playing field in March 2020.
During the beginning of the Covid 19 pandemic, we continued our Saturday morning training sessions virtually on ZOOM video calls which was a new and different way to learn and coach football. We all had a fun and enjoyed ourselves and all the parents were spending quality time with their children playing football in their gardens and at locals parks and fields which was great to see.
Our Club chairman Matthew Keech and the founder of HEJ Coffee in London sponsored the first Green HEJ training kits in June 2019 which was the beginning of HEJ FC. We relocated to the Power League in September 2020 with a larger training group and the club has grown in numbers since.
At the beginning of 2021, we created a team of parent volunteer committee members who are now all DBS checked and completed the required FA courses. We agreed to name and register the club HEJ ATHLETIC with the aim of registering grassroots teams into the Milton Keynes District Devolvement football leagues.
HEJ football club wants to provide a safe, welcoming, friendly, and enjoyable football environment. We are now registered with the Berks and Bucks Football Association.
As a newly formed football club we will strive to uphold the standards set by the Football Association and our aim is to provide football for all children in the coming years once we are fully established.
We are always looking for new players to join our mini kicker sessions and foundation setup on Saturday mornings so please spread the word and thank you for all the support, commitment, and time every parent offers and gives.
